The Demeter family had been making wines in Eger, Hungary since the 18th Century. Csaba Demeter began in the vineyards as a child - although at that time not entirely voluntarily.

Later, his love for the art was awakened when he was able to treat his friends to wine he made himself. The road from there had been straight. Today his winery is well known, his wines have won international prizes and Csaba is as proud of these products as he is of his firstborn child.

One of these days I would like to get his attention long enough to get to work on translating his website but until then, I would still urge you to visit.

My personal favorite is the XY 2003 - a beautiful, velvety, dry red. Csaba also produces whites and rose along with his red wines. If you are not yet familiar with his wines - you owe it to yourself to make it a point to get to know several.
