Cleaning Closets - Preparing for the Cold Weather

closet.gif

Summer is behind us, the days are cooler and the children are back in school. The summer wardrobe is pushed to the back of the closet or packed away for a few months.

Not only is it a space saving procedure, but a cleansing experience to have our lives organized, especially something as personal and as often used as our clothing. Set aside a few hours on a cloudy day and go over your wardrobe, both the summer clothes that you are putting away and the fall/winter clothes that are being put in their place. Does everything fit? (sorry) Do you still love each piece. Do you still feel wonderful in the coat you remembered?

Once you have sorted through your wardrobe, not only will you feel better and be well organized, you may also help others. The Friends of Bajna would be happy to have your cast offs for the village women who could be or are employed but their wardrobe is a handicap. If you have helped yourself and would like to help others by donating your clothes, please contact us for pick-up information at 06.20.334.0356

Beauty Tip

Calendula Infused Soy Oil

Ingredients
1/2 cup dried calendula flowers
3/4 to 1 cup organic soybean oil
Vitamin E oil
Orange essence oil

Instructions:
Place flowers in an 8-ounce Mason jar; pour in soybean oil until jar is nearly full. Drizzle with Vitamin E oil and mix with a wooden stirrer. Seal jar tightly.

Place in a paper bag or cool, dark cupboard for at least two weeks to let herbs infuse the oil. With a wire mesh strainer, strain oil into a sterilized jar. Strain again through a cheesecloth or coffee filter.

Drizzle finished oil with 2 to 3 drops orange essence oil, if desired.

The following list of on-line cookie recipes was making the circuits a few years back in Christmas mailers. I was fascinated by it then and still am so I thought I would share it with those of you who love cookies.
