What used to be a celebration of 'freedom' for Hungary by the Soviet troops, was now a birthday celebration as an EU nation.

Even the weather joined in the festivities as young and old turned out at the various functions held throughout the city.

City Park, Hero's Square, Andrassy Boulevard the Duna bridges (Chain Bridge on the photos) and the banks of the Danube were all sites of picnic, exhibits and music.
