The Kitchen - The Restaurant Where You Write the Menu

Kitchen_team.jpg
The Budapest restaurant landscape had recently become richer by another unique eating establishment, and in this case, a little more.

There are the usual banquet facilities, very reasonably priced quick lunch menus but one of the things that make this restaurant special is the fact that the patrons chose the ingredients for their meal and ask the Chef to prepare them.

Diners may wish to be adventurous and leave it to the Chef's discretion how the chosen ingredients will be prepared or else have a specific dish in mind for their dinner. Either way - it is an interactive adventure that leads to the premier when your food is delivered to your waiting senses.

The Chef - Otto Laczko has an illustrious track record and also teaches cooking courses. Last fall his courses covered basic preparation of meats, fish/seafood, game and holiday meals. Keep an eye out for new spring courses.

You may also want to share the experience of learning to cook a superb meal with friends. Just inform the Chef of your desire and a class will be organized just for you and your friends.

The restaurant also holds wine tastings and can accommodate up to a hundred guests in their banquet facilities. In gentler weather there is a terrace and a playground for the little ones.

Beauty Tip

Calendula Infused Soy Oil

Ingredients
1/2 cup dried calendula flowers
3/4 to 1 cup organic soybean oil
Vitamin E oil
Orange essence oil

Instructions:
Place flowers in an 8-ounce Mason jar; pour in soybean oil until jar is nearly full. Drizzle with Vitamin E oil and mix with a wooden stirrer. Seal jar tightly.

Place in a paper bag or cool, dark cupboard for at least two weeks to let herbs infuse the oil. With a wire mesh strainer, strain oil into a sterilized jar. Strain again through a cheesecloth or coffee filter.

The following list of on-line cookie recipes was making the circuits a few years back in Christmas mailers. I was fascinated by it then and still am so I thought I would share it with those of you who love cookies.

Chill the milk and let's begin.
