J. Edgar - directed by Clint Eastwood
True I've not seen the movie that won the Golden Globe (Descendants) I did see J. Edgar. The movie would have to overcome a great deal of political emotion but if one was willing to be objective and possibly appreciate the historical importance of the Hoover administration in US History - then J. Edgar deserves an award.
This does not have to come down about being in favor or against; instead, merely a glimpse at a human being and how each of us is influenced by personal tragedy in a public role.
The acting was excellent as we've come to expect from Leonardo DiCaprio, although the filming was often too dark to be fully appreciated.
Keep a look out for this movie. Keep an open mind and think about the times this had taken place, the intention of the characters and the humanity of the participants. One does not have to agree with their views to appreciate their intentions and dedication.
