March Continues to Roar Like a Lion

SNOW 003.jpg
After watching with great expectations how the bulbs in my garden were coming up I was laying odds against the scare of new snow. Granted the below freezing temperatures did arrive but the 'orange code' predicting significant amounts of snow seemed a bit much.
SNOW 004.jpg

At three a.m. this morning it began with tiny flakes but falling heavily. This morning at 6 it was the same and with camera in hand I made it to the gate to show you what it looks like.

In the city it is probably being cleared but I've decided not to even clear the sidewalk but wait for it to melt. It's been a long winter. Throwing more wood on the fire, pouring another cup of coffee and curling back up in bed.

Anyone care to share their plans for the three day week-end? Skiing or gardening?

Beauty Tip

Calendula Infused Soy Oil

Ingredients
1/2 cup dried calendula flowers
3/4 to 1 cup organic soybean oil
Vitamin E oil
Orange essence oil

Instructions:
Place flowers in an 8-ounce Mason jar; pour in soybean oil until jar is nearly full. Drizzle with Vitamin E oil and mix with a wooden stirrer. Seal jar tightly.

Place in a paper bag or cool, dark cupboard for at least two weeks to let herbs infuse the oil. With a wire mesh strainer, strain oil into a sterilized jar. Strain again through a cheesecloth or coffee filter.

Drizzle finished oil with 2 to 3 drops orange essence oil, if desired.

The following list of on-line cookie recipes was making the circuits a few years back in Christmas mailers. I was fascinated by it then and still am so I thought I would share it with those of you who love cookies.
