If you are not going to Venice, Italy or South America for the carnival - don't forget to visit one of the many costume shops in Budapest and attend at least one costume ball right here in Budapest this season.

Traditionally, this period is the last merriment before Easter so it may explain the frenzy of the real thing. Putting on play clothes and a mask brings back a little reminder of childhood...sort of, no?
