Bastille Day 2007 - Budapest

The French Institute expanded its traditional one-day Bastille day celebration in Budapest to two full days of programs along the banks of the Danube and in the surrounding streets.

Beginning at noon on Saturday the 14th of July programs begin with dance lessons from the stage on Jegverem u. followed by instructions in pantomime, Corsican acapella folk songs on the Halasz u. stage from 5 p.m.

Visual stimulations and appeal to the palate will be complemented by a colorful and fragrant market will be set up complete with booths offering cheese, wine and gastronomic regional specialities of Hungary.

The traditional fireworks will begin at 9:50 preceeded and followed by music by Les Ouiches then the street party lead by DJ Superman on the river bank until midnight. After midnight the "Bem Rak-party" will move to the Godor Kulb where festivities will continue into the small hours of the morning.

Sunday the musical programs and dance instructions organized by the Institute will continue on the same stages from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. There is something for everyone, we wish you a safe and pleasant celebration.
